2022 Scholarship Awardees

This year's scholarship awardees excelled in both academics and various extracurricular activities.

Ms. Jane Cohen has been a dedicated member of the Leon High School band for the last four years. As the Captain of the Leon High School Marching Band, this awardee showed leadership, commitment and excellence in her musical and administrative roles. Her honors include multiple All-District and All-State Band appearances, as well as multiple academic awards including the Laureat award for the National French Exam, and a superior rating in impromptu speaking at the Florida French Congress. This awardee also tutored young musicians in area middle schools, as well as volunteered and participated in community-based orchestras. She is graduating Summa Cum Laude with a 4.52 weighted GPA and is planning to pursue a degree in music.

Ms. Kate Prendeville is an energetic, driven and compassionate leader who used her role as cheerleading co-captain to not only mentor younger teammates, but also to support community frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. She was very active in several student organizations including Key Club and multiple national honor societies. This student-athlete also completed an externship at Trinity Catholic School where she assisted with marketing and media-related projects, endeavors that align well with her desire to pursue a degree and career in marketing. She is graduating in the top of her class with a 4.42 weighted GPA.
